From small victories to great success
Our history dates back to 1898, when we started our business as a flour mill. However, today we have become a diversified holding company capable of creating innovative products.
1898
The 2nd guild merchant from Chelyabinsk, Ivan Petrovich Kuznetsov, together with his sons Vladimir and Dmitry, built one of the first powerful commercial steam wheat-grinding mills in the Southern Urals. From this historical date begins the history of the modern grain processing plant named after Grigorovich.
1909
The steam mill of the Kuznetsov Brothers Trading House, located 3 miles from Chelyabinsk, became one of the first in the city in terms of production volumes and was awarded a medal for the quality of its flour products.
1911
In 1911, a difficult year after a poor harvest, the merchant Mikhail Petrovich Arkhipov became the new owner of the mill. For 8 years the mill had been called Arkhipovskaya. On the merchant’s letterhead there was an image of the gold medal of the Donbass-Kuban-Terek Agricultural Society “There is strength in hard work and unity.”
1914
During the First World War, a hospital for sick and wounded soldiers was established on the territory of the mill.
1919
The enterprise of the merchant M.P. Arkhipov was nationalized and handed over to the milling department of the provincial Council of National Economy. The first director was Grigory Polunin.
1925
The enterprise was renamed the Kommunar. The enterprise underwent modernization: a new grain dryer, measures were taken to increase the volume of flour production.
1934
The enterprise switched to electricity supply.
1935
The history of the plant is inextricably linked with the work of the innovator engineer Anatoly Fedorovich Grigorovich. He was a laureate of the state prize, the author of more than 100 innovation proposals and 15 inventions. His main invention was the stone separator, a machine for cleaning grain from mineral impurities.
1941
During the Great Patriotic War, the enterprise supplied food to the front and rear. Grigorovich A.F. invented a portable mill (it weighed 100 kg and could grind 5 tons of grain). It could be used not only in the rear, but also on the front lines (in military units, guerrilla units).
1949
Construction of housing on the adjacent territory.
1953
Construction of a compound feed workshop.
1987
The work collective elected Alexander Pavlovich Berestov as the director of Bakery Plant No. 2. The beginning of a new era of development.
1991
Construction of a corn curls workshop. Launch of new product: corn curls.
1992
Establishment of a Joint Stock Company. Renaming of the company to the Grigorovich Bakery Plant. The shareholders unanimously supported this decision in order to honor the memory of Grigorovich.
1999
Launch of a breakfast cereal workshop. Product launch: filled pillows
